Das Rotwild ist wohl die bekannteste Wildart in Deutschland. Die Hirsche sind seit Jahrhunderten das Sinnbild für die Jagd.

Der Mitteleuropäische Rothirsch erreicht eine Höhe von 125 cm und ein Gewicht von 250 kg.
Das Sommerfell ist leuchtend rotbraun. Im Winterfell erscheint der Edelhirsch graubraun.
